We have developed our own software; a tactical ecosystem for the geospatial visualization of SUAS video including the generation of ortho-mosaics and 3D models. The software also provides tools for effective decision-making during mission planning.

Projects / tasks

The intern will be participating in the integration of a gimballed EO/IR camera system, video encoder and radio to a VTOL unmanned aerial vehicle. This will require electrical and mechanical design and implementation. Development and integration of payload control will then be incorporated into our software suite.

Technical skills

Desired skills Java 8+, video encoding/decoding, photogrammetry, network architecture, control loop programming, CAD design and 3D printing.

Grain To Case Press: Redesign Press to operate vertically instead of horizontally.  Incorporate design improvements to prevent rolling Pistons
Sequencer Composition Mixing & Granulating: Develop remote granulation process. Develop process flow through bay, incorporate appropriate guarding and deluge systems.
Extruder: Improve Extrusion flow/drag properties to resolve plank bending, slot knitting.  Lead into an Investigate of extrusion and downstream process balancing for twin planks.
VBD Metal Detector: Review and improve existing system (Smaller through, greater clearances) or replace with alternative system.

Our ideal intern will have a background in Computer Systems Engineering and knowledge of digital signal processing techniques and concepts and familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Java and Python.  Candidates from Electronic/Systems Engineering are also sought, in particular those with an interest in RF, Digital Signal Processing and FPGA development.   Candidates from Software Engineering backgrounds are also considered, however our work tends to leverage concepts that are covered in more traditional engineering such as physics, mathematics, and digital signal processing.
